RagaMuffin Cats


The RagaMuffin cat breed is a large cat with a medium-long coat. The colorings of the RagaMuffin cat are numerous possibilities, although the pointed colorings are not accepted in most cat shows. Though the length of the coat would normally require a considerable amount of grooming, the Ragamuffin cat’s coat is not prone to tangles and matting. Therefore, the grooming requirement for a Ragamuffin is minimal. The coat is silky and soft.

The RagaMuffin is one of the largest domestic cat breeds. RagaMuffin cats weighs up to twenty pounds. The RagaMuffin has a heavy bone structure. RagaMuffin cats have an accumulation of fat in their abdomen. The head of the RagaMuffin has a round appearance. The RagaMuffin has large, rounded eyes. The coloring of the eyes of a RagaMuffin is varied and not restricted by coat color as strictly it is with other breeds. The ears of the RagaMuffin are a medium size and slightly tilted forward.

RagaMuffin cats are somewhat docile, but can be playful. The RagaMuffin cat thrives on human interaction. RagaMuffins seek attention and affection. RagaMuffin cats typically get along well with children and other pets. They will even seek affection from other pets. The Ragamuffin cat breed should not be allowed to roam outdoors. Due to its docile and friendly nature, this breed is not very good at defending itself when necessary.

The RagaMuffin has struggled to become independent of the Ragdoll breed. The RagaMuffin and Ragdoll cat breeds originally started with the same litter of kittens. However, the development of the two breeds separated and the cats acquired distinct characteristics.

The RagaMuffin has a dome-shaped head and large, round eyes. The Ragdoll has a flatter skull and oval eyes. RagaMuffin cats and Ragdoll cats have been interbreeding, but interbreeding of these two cat breeds is prohibited starting in 2010. RagaMuffin cats are not considered their own breed by all cat associations.

The life expectancy of a RagaMuffin is considered to be long. The RagaMuffin cat becomes mature at four years of age. RagaMuffins are a hardy cat breed. There are no health concerns that are specific to this cat breed.
